Psychosomatics: what is it and how it affects life

Psychosomatics - what is it?

If you compress all information,  psychosomatics is a term used to refer to diseases that are caused by psychological causes. It is divided into several aspects:

1. Sociological

As the living conditions of people and their cultural traditions influence the appearance of mental disorders.

2. Psychotherapeutic

How to avoid reactions that destroy the psyche and how to choose the right model of behavior.

3. Psychological

What kind of reactions are associated with the appearance of diseases caused by psychological state.

4. Physiological

How emotions influence physiology.

5. Medical

How to treat psychosomatic diseases

So, the mind and the somatics, that is, our mind and body, are very tightly connected. The greater the psychological pressure, the harder and more serious the person suffers. According to the WHO data, the percentage of psychosomatic patients is 38% to 42% of all patients referring to doctors.

What diseases does psychosomatics cause? Doctors distinguish two main groups of psychosomatic diseases:

1. Large

Ulcer, hypertension, bronchial asthma, ulcerative colitis, thyrotoxicosis, neurodermatitis, rheumatoid arthritis.

2. Small

Neurotic lesions of internal organs.

However, there are many psychosomatic abnormalities, some say more than a hundred. Doctors name the following: drug addiction, alcoholism, appendicitis, insomnia, weight problems, eye diseases, inflammatory processes, head, neck and throat diseases, birth-related abnormalities, respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, dental and gum diseases, dermal diseases and problems with bones, diseases of the circulatory system and disorders in the work of internal organs, female and male sexual dysfunctions.

There is an opinion that even oncological diseases and, naturally, mental disorders appear due to severe stress.

Causes of violations can the  following:

1. Chronic stress

Constant experiences due to work / study / personal problems, stress from clogged transport - all this has a very strong effect on our mental health.

2. Emotional stress

Or "constant readiness mode". This is an absolute inability to normally relax and enjoy life.

3. Long-lasting experience of negative emotions

The death of a loved one, dismissal, separation - things that are very difficult carry on and forget. Over time, it accumulates and begins to put a lot of pressure on the psyche.

4. "Unreacted" emotions

Doctors do not recommend restraining when you feel bad and really want to cry. The heart suffers especially from deterrence.

5. Conditional benefit

Some people are easier to make themselves sick, than do something unpleasant. Doctors say - sudden serious illnesses in front of anxious, but important events are due to the banal reaction of the body to stress.

How to deal with these psychosomatic problems? It's very simple - you should not be ashamed to be examined in time and to visit doctors. Do not forget about your health, because life is one.
