To make a variety in the autumn diet and make breakfast more useful, we offer to replace the cup of morning coffee with 3 healthy alternatives. These invigorating drinks perfectly warm yout body, fill you with energy and give a good mood for the whole day.
1. Cocoa with orange juice and dried ginger
Looking for a substitute for coffee? Make a cup of cocoa. Such a delicious drink raises the mood in a matter of minutes for the rest of the day. Cocoa promotes the production of serotonin - the "happiness hormone", besides it helps to normalize the balance of cholesterol and quickly causes a feeling of fullness of the stomach. Orange juice speeds up metabolism, invigorates and saturates the body with vitamin C. Ginger also accelerates metabolism and increases immunity, which is especially important in the cold seasons. To make cocoa, squeeze the juice from a half of the orange and grate a little bit of zest. Then cook the cocoa, add the orange juice and zest, a little of dried ginger (at the tip of the knife). To taste, you can add honey or maple syrup, although orange juice already makes cocoa not so bitter.
2. Ginger tea
Ginger tea is very useful, as it, unlike coffee, has a long stimulating effect. The smell of ginger relieves fatigue and improves mood. An invigorating drink will be especially useful for those who are engaged in intellectual work. The recipe is simple: peel a piece of ginger root, finely cut with a knife and pour into boiling water. For flavor, you can add a lemon, a little mint, an orange slice, honey or maple syrup. Spice lovers can also brew a cinnamon stick and an anise star with ginger.
3. Spicy chai-latte
This invigorating drink with delicate notes of cinnamon and cardamom perfectly warms and gives a good mood for the whole day. And there is as much caffeine in it as in a cup of coffee. A little nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger will give even more warming effect. For cooking you need to brew black tea (1-2 tablespoons) with 2 cups of boiling water. Then pour the tea into a saucepan, add 2-2.5 cups of milk and spices (pinch of nutmeg, 1/4 tsp ginger, a little cloves, 1-2 cardamom), bring the mixture to a boil. Remove the chai-latte from the heat and filter the spices. To taste, you can add honey or maple syrup.
